During a period of rapid growth at SafetyCulture, a 50% increase in engineering staff and the introduction of new tools led to organizational and productivity challenges. Looking to identify the problem, they issued an internal survey, which revealed knowledge search as the biggest culprit. Data was spread across multiple applications, knowledge was siloed, and there was a desire for more context to be surfaced as well. 

Although SafetyCulture first considered building an internal solution, they wanted to keep their engineers at work building their core product for frontline workers—not trying to innovate an enterprise search and work AI platform from scratch. They wanted an out-of-the-box tool that delivered trusted search results, accelerated workflows across the company, and a secure platform that unified AI tools across the organization.

SafetyCulture engineers were spending up to four hours a week manually searching for content. Implementing Glean immediately cut search times by 50%, thanks to fully contextualized, nuanced, and citation-rich results for every query. Glean quickly became the company's default native search solution.

Internal survey data found that Glean saves each employee 1.5 hours per week on information searching. With 80% of employees regularly using Glean, Zillow teams across HR, Engineering, UX Research, and more are able to prioritize higher value activities in their day to day workflows.

Agents, made real

Glean enabled every user at SafetyCulture to experiment with, build, and share new agents through the Agent Builder tool. Within months, SafetyCulture built a variety of agents tackling everything from meeting summarization and employee performance reviews, to debugging and internal support questions.

Employees tap this agent to instantly get up-to-date details about any internal feature, such as development progress and delivery timeline without having to ask product teams.

Engineering Assistant Agent

Engineers at SafetyCulture leverage this agent daily to debug common errors and troubleshoot complex issues. It’s also capable of evaluating the readiness of files like architectural change docs, as well as analyzing the quality of data models engineers are using to ensure best practices and standards are up to par.

GTM & Support Agent

This agent enabled GTM and support teams at SafetyCulture to move faster by quickly delivering answers to their product-related questions. With hundreds of changes being made every week to product payloads and roadmaps, leveraging an agent to stay on top of updates made it easier for these teams to keep moving and answer customer questions without waiting for a response from R&D.
